What is posture rehab and functional ergonomics?

Common pain and injuries, whether neck and shoulder pain, back pain, knee pain, foot pain or even repetitive sports injuries, are all rooted in structural imbalances in the body and poor movement patterns.

At Rehab Care Clinic, we focus on treating the root cause using posture and functional ergonomics: an individual approach to body realignment, posture and your environment that focuses on correcting faulty movement patterns and restoring the body’s natural balance.

What is posture rehab and functional ergonomics?
This approach combines posture rehabilitation with adapting how you use your body in daily life (functional ergonomics).

Body assessment and posture correction at Rehab Care Clinic

Posture rehabilitation

Focuses on bringing the spine, joints and body structures back into neutral alignment to reduce pressure on the joints and nerves, so that the body can move in a balanced and natural way.

Functional ergonomics (adapting how you use your body in daily life)

Assessing and adjusting your posture during activities such as:

  • Sitting at work (to address office syndrome)
  • Lifting, running, repetitive sports movements or the type of work you do
  • Choosing equipment that suits your body, such as shoes or a desk

to help reduce accumulated strain and prevent injury in the long term.

Problems caused by structural imbalance and poor body use

Pain in different parts of the body is often connected and caused by structural abnormalities:

  • Knee pain / foot pain: caused by abnormal leg alignment (such as flat feet or knees collapsing inwards) and weak hip muscles.
  • Shoulder pain / sports injuries: often caused by weak shoulder blade or core muscles, which overload the shoulder during repetitive movements.
  • Neck and shoulder pain / back pain / office syndrome: often caused by poor sitting or standing posture, which puts constant pressure on the spine and intervertebral discs.

Personalised rehabilitation at Rehab Care Clinic

We focus on treating the root cause of your symptoms, systematically combining assessment, treatment and exercise so that you can return to your life effectively and with confidence.
1. Postural assessment (postural grid analysis): we analyse your body alignment from head to toe to identify imbalances that are causing pain.
2. Pain relief with modern technology: we use modern physical therapy equipment to treat acute or chronic pain and release tight muscles in the problem areas before starting posture correction.
3. Therapeutic exercise (to restore balance): our physical therapists design a personalised programme to strengthen your core and postural muscles, so that you can maintain correct posture yourself in daily life.
4. Functional ergonomics and post-rehab care: advice on

  • Adapting your work environment
  • Choosing supportive aids, such as insoles or braces
  • Practising correct movement patterns in daily activities and sport

to prevent re-injury and build lasting musculoskeletal health.
