#SittingForLongPeriods or sitting incorrectly can cause pain and tightness in the muscles of the neck, shoulders and shoulder blades, as well as the back, hips and legs. Today we will show you exercises for the lower back and hip muscles.

Let's start by stretching the muscles.

Exercise 1: Back muscles. Lie flat on the floor and hug your knee to your chest as far as you can, until you feel a stretch but no pain. Hold for 15 seconds, 4 times per set, 3 sets a day. Complete one side before switching to the other side.

Exercise 2: Hip muscles. Cross one leg over the other, then pull the leg underneath towards your chest until you feel a stretch in the hip, but no pain. Hold for 15 seconds, 4 times per set, 3 sets a day.

Once we have relaxed the muscles by stretching, the next step is to strengthen them to prevent further injury.

Exercise 3: Core muscles, or the plank. This exercise works both the back and the hips.

Lie face down with your elbows bent at a right angle on the floor, then lift your body until it is parallel to the floor. Hold for 30 seconds, 10 times per set. Do not hold your breath while exercising.

If you have any questions about your symptoms or the exercises, feel free to send us a message.
