Aerobic Water Exercise

This is a weight-loss workout like ordinary aerobics, but done in water instead. It is set to music, with an instructor leading the routine using arm and leg movements, and additional equipment is used during the exercise to increase muscle strength.

Mode: aerobic exercise uses the large muscle groups in continuous, rhythmic and natural movement.

Duration & Frequency: exercise continuously for 40–50 minutes per session, 3–5 days per week, once a day.

What are the advantages of Aerobic Water Exercise  ?

1. The water supports your body weight, reducing the load on the joints far more than doing aerobics on land to lose weight.

2. Research has shown that exercising in warm water at 50–60% of maximum heart rate for 60 minutes, 3 times a week for 4 consecutive weeks, can reduce body fat percentage.

3. There is more resistance in water than on land, so you use more effort than when exercising on land to lose weight. This makes the muscles and heart stronger and improves endurance.

4. The joints move more freely in water because the water supports your body weight.

5. Exercising in water to lose weight does not make you sweat while you work out.

6. Water aerobics for weight loss is suitable for people of all genders and ages, whether or not they have exercised before.
